MycoStruct Kick-off Meeting

On 11–12 May 2026, the MycoStruct project officially launched with a successful kick-off meeting hosted by Adamo Foods in Nottingham, United Kingdom. The meeting brought together project partners from across Europe for discussions, collaboration, and strategic planning, marking the beginning of the project journey.

The event began with a networking dinner on the evening of 11 May, offering consortium members the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen collaboration ahead of the official programme.

The full-day meeting on 12 May opened with a welcome from the project coordinators, followed by an introduction to the MycoStruct vision, objectives, and expected impact. Consortium partners then presented their organisations and areas of expertise, highlighting the strong multidisciplinary collaboration driving the project forward.

Programme highlights included:

  • Introduction to the project objectives and consortium structure.

  • Partner presentations and collaborative discussions.

  • Presentation from the Project Officer on implementation guidelines.

  • Work Package presentations covering planned activities, expected outcomes, and next steps.

  • Guided tour of Adamo Foods’ facilities, including a tasting of the company’s innovative whole-cut mycelium steak alternative.

Throughout the meeting, partners aligned on technical, scientific, and management priorities while establishing the roadmap for the coming months of collaboration.

The kick-off meeting concluded with a summary of key outcomes, action points, and upcoming activities, creating a strong foundation for the successful implementation of the MycoStruct project.
